Funding

We are a not-for-profit organisation. Our core funding for the Illawarra Women’s Health Centre comes from the NSW Department of Health, via South Eastern Sydney and Illawarra Area Health Service.

Other funding is acquired from time to time by application for grants from various sources and for projects which the centre wishes to be involved in.

We had a three-year funded project, Unveiling the Myths: A Muslim Women’s Project from 2006-09. This was funded by Illawarra Area Assistance Scheme, Department of Community Services - a body which funds community-based projects.

We bulk-bill for Medicare-funded services such as doctor and nurse clinics.

Donations

The Illawarra Women’s Health Centre is registered with the Australian Tax Office as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR), ie we are considered to be a public benevolent institution. Most services are free of charge, although tax-deductible donations are welcome.
