Welcome

Illawarra Women’s Health Centre is a non-profit organisation run by women for women. We welcome women of all ages and cultures, and believe every woman has the right to make informed decisions about her own health. Our priority is women on low incomes. There is no need for referrals. Simply ring 4255 6800 to join a group or workshop, or make an appointment with one of our many health practitioners. The centre is a women-only safe space and disability access and facilities are good.

We have a feminist philosophy — which means we acknowledge that women are not equal citizens in this world, and that women’s rights, which are human rights, are often not respected — leading to discrimination and violence. We are active in campaigns and programs that seek to pursue or uphold women’s rights.

We have a holistic and social view of health and we are committed to actively working towards social change and improving the well-being of women.

We have a range of groups, workshops and activities, and a range of practitioners such as naturopath, reflexologist, massage and Angelic Reiki therapists, counsellors and a very limited medical practice. Our services are free or low-cost. Read our Fees Policy here.

Our team of women offers a wide range of skills and comes
from a variety of cultural backgrounds. We can book interpreters if needed.

We welcome interest in our centre by women of the community, students, women employees of community-based agencies — if you have an interest in women’s health, or would like to learn more, talk to us and consider joining our association. Membership is open only to women.
