Financial counselling

Financial counselling is available at the Centre. These are one-on-one, confidential, and free appointments held with a qualified financial counsellor.

Financial problems can cause stress and can have a significant impact on mental health. For some, the financial pressures of life may seem impossible to overcome, but there is help and support available.

This service can assist with exploring your financial options, managing personal and family budgeting, providing advocacy and support when dealing with creditors, as well as general information and referrals.

Legal Advice

We offer free and confidential appointments with a female solicitor who can support you with legal advice, information, and referrals.

She can provide information about topics including domestic, family, and sexual violence, tenant’s rights, welfare rights, and child support.

Services Australia (Centrelink)

Services Australia provides outreach assistance at our Centre. The Community Engagement Officer from Services Australia is able to provide guidance and support with accessing Centrelink.

She can assist with accessing information, payments, and services. Appointments are confidential and private.

Work and Development Orders

Work and Development Orders (WDOs) can assist you to pay off or reduce fines issued by Revenue NSW through volunteering or participating in activities and programs.

Illawarra Women’s Health Centre is an approved sponsor organisation for WDOs. Contact us for more information about this service.
